Boarding

Dryden is a popular destination for windsurfing and kite boarding in the summer and kite skiing/boarding in the winter. There is a growing community of active skiers and boarders in Dryden who can often be found taking advantage of the conditions on Wabigoon and Thunder Lake. Popular locations to access the lakes during the summer months are Flat Rock (Wabigoon Lake), Sandy Beach (Wabigoon Lake), and Johnson's Beach (Thunder Lake). During the winter, you will find the kiting community accessing Wabigoon Lake right of of the ice road at Van Horne Landing.
Splash Parks

Cool off at one of Dryden's splash parks! Kinsmen Park, near downtown, offers a splash pad, playgrounds, picnic areas, and washrooms under shady trees. Plumridge Park is a quieter green space with a splash pad and play structure, perfect for a summer retreat. The Beyak Automotive Group Splash Park, built in 2022 at Rotary Park, features 2,000 square feet of water fun with over 15 splash features, making it a top spot to beat the heat.
Flying
The Dryden Flying Club is one of Canada's oldest continuously operated flying clubs, located on the shores of Wabigoon Lake at Olsen's Landing. The Dryden Flying Club is a registered water aerodrome with Transport Canada (CJD8) and has ramps for float plane parking, a dock for short term aircraft parking, and 100LL avgas available.
Dryden Yacht Club
Wednesday Night Racing plus a number of special events, including the annual spring and fall frostbite regattas, allow both seasoned sailors and non-sailors alike to get on the water for some great competition and camaraderie. Our motto is "No one gets left on the dock", so just come down to the club and you will be welcomed onto a boat.
Paddling
With plenty of lake access and access to part of the one of the few water-based sections of the Trans Canada Trail, Dryden is a fantastic location to dip your paddle. Whether you canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard, Wabigoon Lake and Thunder Lake are easily accessible from multiple locations.
